If you’re new to the world of self-storage, you might (mistakenly) believe all storage facilities are created equal. They are not. But don’t learn this the hard way. Here are a few tips for selecting the right option for you.
Access – If you want to get to your things anytime of the day or night, then choose a facility that offers 24/7, secure access. There’s nothing worse than needing something at 9:00 p.m. on a Saturday night only to discover you’ll have to wait until Monday morning for your things.
Security – ‘Too Safe’ is not a possibility when it comes to your precious belongings. Be sure to carefully consider all the ways your potential storage facility is protected. How is access granted to renters? Who else can get in? What security measures are in place? When are facility employees and guards on the property? These are all questions you should ask before signing on the dotted line.
Help – When you have a question or need help, who will be there to assist? Find out when the property manager is on site and who to reach out to if you have questions after hours.
